Cook For Ukraine

On 18 May 2022 4pm-8pm K Kitchens will be joining chefs, restaurants and food lovers across the world by cooking, baking and sharing tastes of Ukrainian and Eastern European inspired dishes at their Altrincham showroom in aid of #CookForUkraine with funds going to UNICEF.

#CookForUkraine aims to increase awareness of the humanitarian crisis the world faces right now, as well as raise the funds needed to aid children and families in Ukraine who have been displaced by the current situation.

Danil Sugakov from K Kitchens was raised in Estonia and feels compelled to do something to help the Ukrainian people:

Danil explained;

“As a team we wanted to do something to show solidarity with the people from Ukraine. Food is a universal way to bring communities together and our fully working showroom provides the perfect backdrop to share the recipes and food similar to those I, and our Ukrainian friends grew up enjoying.

Supporting #CookForUkraine gives us a chance to join with people from different backgrounds and nationalities, get involved and raise much needed funds.”

As well as donating directly to the fund K Kitchens will be inviting customers, reps, friends and family to donate in return for demonstrations and samples of Ukrainian and Eastern European dishes cooked by BORA’s home economist Claire Bassano who is a supporting Chef on C4 – Sunday Brunch,  and with Ainsley Harriott on Good Mood Foods

Claire said:

“Food is universal in bringing communities together and we are delighted to work with K Kitchens to support this important initiative, raise awareness and funds for UNICEF”.

Dishes on the day will include Blinis with crème fraiche, smoked salmon, pink pickled shallots and dill, Buckwheat salad, with roasted beetroot, seared sirloin steak and dill dressing and Ukrainian Apple Cake.

People who wish to attend the event should book their free place by emailing [email protected]

All participants will be encouraged to donate directly to the #CookForUkraine JustGiving page but a traditional bucket will be available for donations on the day.
