£1000 RAISED FOR #COOKFORUKRAINE

THANK YOU to all our team and our fantastic customers for helping us to raise a whopping £1000 for children affected by the Ukrainian crisis by cooking, baking and sharing tastes of Ukrainian and Eastern European inspired dishes.

And as the food and wine flowed, we received an extra slice of support when local celebrity chef Simon Rimmer from C4 Sunday Brunch popped in to lend his support.

Danil Sugakov joint owner of K Kitchen Centre said

“As a team, we wanted to do something to show solidarity with the people from Ukraine. Food is a universal way to bring communities together and our fully working showroom provides the perfect backdrop to share the recipes and food similar to those I, and my Ukrainian friends grew up enjoying.

Supporting #CookForUkraine gave us a chance to join with people from different backgrounds and nationalities, get involved and raise much-needed funds.”

Customers, reps, friends and family were all invited to enter raffles and donate in return for demonstrations and samples of Ukrainian and Eastern European dishes cooked by BORA’s home economist and C4 Sunday brunch support chef Claire Bassano.

Claire said:

“Food is universal in bringing communities together and we are delighted to work with K Kitchens to support this important initiative, and raise awareness and funds for UNICEF”.

Dishes on the day included Blinis with Crème Fraiche, smoked salmon, pink pickled shallots and dill, Buckwheat salad, with roasted beetroot, seared sirloin steak and dill dressing and Ukrainian Apple Cake, ‘Biskvit.
